The Pitt Town boat ramp, including boat trailer carpark, was planned to be delivered as part of the final stage of the State Government’s approved Concept Plan. At the time Johnson Property Group offered to deliver it, with the agreement of all original landowners.
Due to changes in land ownership, there is no longer certainty that the boat ramp, carpark or upgrades to Punt Road will ever be built. Johnson Property Group no longer has control over the final precinct which is now progressing through a land sale process by the original owner that excludes Johnson Property Group. The new landowner may elect to develop this precinct in a different form, or under different planning rules, which means there will be no planning mechanism in place to guarantee its delivery.
Without action from the community, Pitt Town may never get its boat ramp and boat trailer carpark.
The only way to ensure delivery of this community infrastructure is for the community to lobby Hawkesbury City Council and demand it step in to secure its future. If you support the boat ramp being built, we encourage you to add your name and voice to this campaign.
