Bilpin’s Wildwood Garden is literally in full bloom in spring. Set in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Mountains, the two-hectare garden comes alive with camellias and spring blossom at this time of year. The garden is the project of Wayne and Sue Tapping, who have been crafting it for more than 35 years.

“We’ve spent a lifetime collecting and growing plants, trees, shrubs, vines and bulbs especially for spring, when the garden explodes,” explains Sue. “Our garden was designed without using great scarping earthworks. It works hand in hand with the natural setting that was here before. For us, this is how a garden should be.”

The garden features a magnificent waterfall, and expansive lawns perfect for picnics. “It’s a spectacular show,” says Sue. “People of all ages enjoy the colours, perfume and design of the garden, along with all the birds and creatures that visit.”

Wildwood Garden is open for spring until 2 November, Friday to Monday, 10am – 4pm. Entry for adults is $10, concession is $8, and kids under 16 enter free. Find them at 29 Powells Road, Bilpin NSW 2758. Contact Wayne on 0417 042 460 or see www.wildwoodgarden.com.au for more information.
