We have had several enquiries from Vermont residents recently about the progress of the Boat Ramp, Sporting Fields and Community Centre, so we thought we’d put all the information we have to date here for everyone to access.

Boat Ramp
At the moment we are focussed on getting the boat ramp up and running, and have been working closely with Council for a while now on the design. This process can take time but we’re happy to say that the designs for the road upgrade and boat and trailer carpark have been lodged with Council. This DA number is DA0262/15 and you can access the Council website by clicking here. If you wish to contact Council to show your support please email council@hawkesbury.nsw.gov.au with the subject line “Development Application Enquiry: DA0262/15”.

The designs for the boat ramp into the water will be lodged in coming weeks. We will be sure to let everyone in the Vermont community know as soon as these designs go on public display so everyone can show their strong support for the boat ramp. We’re doing everything in our power to get approval as soon as possible so we can build the boat ramp before the start of the summer boating season this year. We know how important it is to people.

Sporting Facilities and Community Centre
Once we’re finished the boat ramp we’ll be able to turn our focus toward the Sporting Fields and Community Centre. These facilities will be built by Council so there’s only so much control we can have over it. The way it works is that all developers at Pitt Town contribute a portion of each block sale to Council for these facilities (this is called a Section 94 Contributions). To date, we estimate that we’ve contributed approximately $2.8million specifically towards these facilities. We will continue to work with Council to determine the best and fastest way forward to assist them in their delivery of the sporting fields and community centre. We’d ask you to please continue showing your support for these facilities, and we’ll do the same.

The Section 94 Contributions Plan will be collecting contributions from all developers for embellishment works at the Fernadell sporting fields, namely:

  • 4x shelters including seating
  • BBQ
  • Toilet / change room / kiosk
  • Playground
  • Preparation of Landscape Plan;
  • Level Playing Field
  • 3rd Playing Field
  • Sports Lighting
  • Seats
  • Bubblers
  • Plants & Gardens
  • Irrigation
  • Pumps
  • 50 space carpark
  • Signage / Entrance
  • Bins
  • Pathways
  • Fencing
  • Lighting
  • Site Establishment
  • Fitness Station

In addition, Council is seeking contributions from developers to construct the Community Facility, namely:

  • Construction Costs
  • 50 space carpark and lighting
  • Landscaping
  • Application fees and administration costs
  • Architectural Services
  • Site safety and building security
  • Utilities
  • Fitout

We will keep the community up to date on the progress of the facilities – make sure you check our blog or Facebook page in the coming months for more updates.
