This one is for the adventurers! Follow our trail to experience all the natural wonders the Watagans have to offer, right on your doorstep at Watagan Park.

Boarding House Dam

Begin your journey with a scenic stroll past Boarding House Dam—a must-see starting point for any trip into Watagans National Park. Bring a picnic basket and blanket along to enjoy at the site’s picnic area, and fuel up for the trek ahead. You’ll need it for where we’re going!

Gap Creek Falls

Next stop—Gap Creek Falls. There are so many options to explore while you’re here. Take a serene kayaking voyage, or if you’re more prone to staying on dry land, hike along the walking track through dense forest and emerge in front of the breathtaking falls. There’s even a camping ground close by to pause your journey here and pick up again tomorrow.

The Pines

Now that you’re all refreshed and ready for another day of trekking, load your camping gear into the car and drive over to The Pines to start the next phase of our adventure. This picnic area is the perfect spot to enjoy a bite to eat or barbeque beneath the beautiful tall hoop pine forest before we embark once again.

Abbotts Falls Walk

You’ll love the journey we have ahead! The Abbotts Falls Walking Track takes us through dry eucalypt forest and winds its way downhill through moist gullies of blue gum and rainforest to the Abbotts Falls Lookout. Take in the beautiful views before heading onwards to our next stop.

Monkey Face Lookout

Our adventure comes to a close at the scenic Monkey Face Lookout. With rolling views of the valley, it’s an ideal spot to enjoy some afternoon tea and take in the naturally stunning surroundings. And if you’re an avid birdwatcher, be sure to bring your binoculars—there are many interesting species that call Monkey Face Lookout home.
